Our Sweet Ava turns 6!

I could go on all day about this sweet little spirit we like to call "Ava Bug". She has been a light in our house since the day she was born. She is very sensitive of others feelings, always willing to help, and the first one to help someone up when they fall down. She is a bit of a free spirit but doesn't let that interfere with being obedient. She has a passion to live and teach God's word and rarely does she let us forget to pray over our food. She is having a great year in Kindergarten and her teacher tells us that she is a leader in their class. Mrs. Coslett also says that Ava has a quite a crowd of both girls and boys that always want to be with her and that she is a great example and friend to others. Happy birthday Ava, We love you!

For Ava's birthday we had 3 of her friends from school come over for a cooking party before school. We made pizza's and decorated cookies. I could not believe how well these 4 little girls played together. What a fun way to celebrate!

Thanksgiving in Wenatchee

For Thanksgiving this year we made the trek to Grammy and Papa's house in Wenatchee. We took snowmobiles to get Christmas trees, had a fire and a picnic, snuggled baby Emma the newest member of the family, played with cousin Parker, and celebrated Ava's birthday. We are so glad we were able to spend Thanksgiving with family this year.

Random!

Don't you love the self confidence of a kindergartners? I picked up Ava from school the day before Thanksgiving break and their were 23, 24 including her teacher, turkeys gobbling their way home. It just brought a huge smile to my heart knowing how proud they were of their handy work. It also made me a little sad knowing that soon they will not think wearing a turkey mask is the "cool thing to do".

We also have a picture of Elle and her "gloves". Anytime she finds socks or gloves she puts them on and walks around the house like it is normal... we love that :)

Lastly we have a picture of all 4 kids in the "kid cupboard". Poor William will always be the odd man out.

Carving Pumpkins

Wow, what a great year when the kids want to start carving their own pumpkins... the amount of pumpkin guts carved out by Aaron or I was quite minimal! The girls did a great job! The twins were great supervisors :)

Halloween

Our halloween pictures are practically non-existant this year :( Ava had H1N1 and spent Halloween on the couch. Here are the only pictures that I found, our little pumpkins and Pipi Longstocking. Hannah and I spent halloween night at church for our second annual hallow's eve carnival.

The girls try ice skating!

In October the girls were invited by their friends Madeline and Noella to try out ice skating. Well, they loved it! I am not sure why they enjoyed it as they spent 99.8% of the time on their rear-ends! I winced everytime they hit the ground. I did make them wear their bike helmets, and boy did they come in handy!

Ava's field trip to the pumpkin patch

For the second year in a row I went on the Kindergarten field trip to the pumpkin patch. I am wondering why, for the second year, it just so happens to be the COLDEST day in October?

I've been away too long...

Pumpkin patch 2009. We have had a tradition of going out to Linder Farms with a big group of families in the past but this year we ventured out on our own. We went on a beautiful night about a week before Halloween.
