Feeding time at the ZOO!

Here are some fun pictures of my messy little eaters. Of course I would be given two babies at once that like their food two totally different ways! Elle loves to eat chunks of peaches, pears, avocado, etc. and Will loves it pureed out of the jar! This makes feeding time a bit interesting.

I also should take a second to mention the various objects Elle has swallowed and for good reason proceeded to throw up ... Now that she is VERY mobile I see no need to vacuum on a daily basis because she does it for me!! I should be taking pictures of all the things I have retrieved out of her mouth and throw up... sorry if you have a weak stomach. She has swallowed a bow that I glued on her head, wood chips (quite a few because the kids track them in from outside), plastic, a small rock, etc. I swear I am pretty attentive to what is going on, but as you are reading this post you probably don't think so. Today I bought a Superyard XT and plan to set it up in the living room to keep her contained. I will take a picture soon.

How could a face this cute be up to so much no good?

Fun New Hair Styles

I stole this particular hairstyle from a friend (thanks for posting Angie). Recently a few different people have mentioned blogs with fun hairstyles. We have tried a few new ones, it is always fun to change the hair routine up a bit. Here are a couple links that I like http://girlydos.blogspot.com/ and

Our first sitting stroller ride

The babies first ride sitting up in the double stroller. Until now they have been in the Snap and Go stroller which is where you snap the car seats into an aluminum frame. We went for a walk around the neighborhood. It happened to be one of the few days this fall that actually required a jacket. I can't believe it is still in the high 80's!!

A typical Saturday... or any day as long as dad is around.

Aaron puts up with so much!!! 5 days a week he gets up early, works all day, and the second he walks into the house at night his alone time (the 15 min he got in the car to and from work) is officially over!!! He walks in the door and gets bombarded by 4 kids, the dog, and his wife... we all want his undivided attention and we want it NOW!!! The girls and I are all talking to him (over each other, each trying to be heard) a million miles an hour... telling him every minute detail of our day while the dog is right under foot and the babies are talking and making googly eyes at him so they will be the ones to reap the benefit of 5 seconds of daddy time. Anyway this picture is worth a thousand words... If you will notice this picture was taken on a Saturday morning, I only know this because he is not in his work clothes. On a regular day he would not have time to change before sitting down with all four kids... Moose is missing from this picture... He would normally be in the middle of all the action. Thanks for being the best dad and husband.... We ALL love you!!

Bath Time

Ahh, don't we look cute? We should dress like twins more often.

Aaron and I have been quite spoiled the last couple weekend. On September 5, one of the contractors (Datum Construction) that is building a Walgreen's in town for Aaron gave us tickets to the Shakespeare Festival. We hired our neighbor girl a couple doors up to come and watch the kids (this is only the second time we have had a sitter for all 4 kids). We had a great time. Luckily I called a friend that had been before to get all the tips. We had box seats (which consists of table and chairs vs. the regular seats which is were you sit on the grass in the amphitheater). We brought a bottle of wine and stopped to get a salad from Chili's on the way. Little did we know that Datum would wine and dine us. When we got there they had ordered a picnic basket for two that had all kinds of good food and treats so we pushed the salad aside and ate up. It was a GREAT date night. We saw the play Greater Tuna it was not Shakespeare instead it was a pretty hilarious comedy.

On September 6th our friends Josh and Mari Sanders invited us to go to the Sara Evans concert . Josh works in advertising so he was able to get some free tickets. We also went with The Weavers and The Johnson's. We left the babies with Grammy and Auntie Aspen and took the girls with us. The concert was great and the kids had a blast! We go to church with all of these families and the kids are all really good friends... so they were extra wild!!!

The fun doesn't stop there... The following weekend we were invited by Keith and Shari Jones (Datum Construction) to go the the BSU game. They have box seats in the new sky boxes built this year at Bronco Stadium. We were excited to see the Broncos in action and had a great time. The funny thing is that when we were getting ready to leave Aaron's mom pointed out that we were dressed exactly alike! (great minds think alike) Before Aaron changed his mom thought to take a picture... How funny.

Ha-ha-ha... Mom's losin' it!

Well so much for keeping up the appearance that I have it all together... I just blew my cover. I have been questioned by a couple people about my last post and yes, just to clear things up, the twins are only 8 months old!!! I swear I knew they were only 8 months but somehow I got 9 months in my head yesterday and ran with it! Ooops. This is my life... Welcome to it!!!

Happy 9 months Will and Elle!!! ... I mean Happy 8 months?!

  • It is so crazy to think that it has been a full (once again.... insert edit. 8) 9 months since these two little bundles of joy joined our family.

At 9 (edit... 8) months they...

both have two teeth

both sit up

both jabber (Elle more so than Will... but then, she is a girl)

Elle says Da Da Da Da (which melts her daddy's heart) and clicks her tongue

Love to watch their sisters, mom and dad, and the dog

Elle loves to army crawl around the house. She is beginning to put everything in her mouth.

they have both chewed and ripped up a book (let the destruction begin)

They both LOVE vegetables but are still getting used to the sourness of fruit

Will LOVES to be snuggled

Elle is afraid to be snuggled for fear that she might miss something (again she is a typical girl)

They both hold their bottles

Will wakes up mad and hungry... rarely does he even open his eyes, he just wants a bottle and he wants it NOW!!

Elle always wakes up with a smile on her face, even if you walk into her room in the middle of the night she will wake up, give you a smile and then go back to bed

They both melt our hearts and I don't think that there is any possible way we could love them more.

Will has the softest head. We figure we could make money charging people to rub it. I bet you have never felt anything like it. He loves to have it rubbed, it is very soothing to him.

Have both been dropped by a big sister that is trying to be helpful

Love to look at each other and are beginning to steal toys and bite one another

Both continue to sleep through the night. 6pm- 7 or 8am being normal schedule

Finally holding their own bottles!!! What a glorious day!!Posted by Picasa

More pictures.

The Carroll Four
Ahh, such a loving big sister.

Our little green eyes.

Picture dump.

Will got a little wild when I put him down for his nap... I am not sure what all is going on here.

Happy girl. They are now so mobile while they are in their cribs.
Our three beautiful girls.

Our little man gets Teeth!

William can finally fight back! He got his first two teeth, they broke through on Sept 8 (Uncle Jaron's 20th birthday)! Unfortunately for Will Elle found his toes in his mouth the other day and she bit him HARD!! At least he can fight back in the biting war.

Millions of Peaches, Peaches for Me.

Well by looking at the pictures I am sure that you can see what we did this week. We picked 3 3/4 bushels of peaches in 45 minutes thanks to help from Auntie Lisa, Uncle Jared, and of course Hannah, Ava and cousin Audrey. We had fun canning but as we neared the end we were thankful to be done!!!

Recipe Blog

Well I caved today and decided to start a recipe blog. I can not guarantee that it will be updated very often, but as I cook through the winter I will try to post recipes that we make and love. If you feel so inclined to send me recipes I will post them as well. If you have a recipe blog I hope you don't mind if I steal! I am excited about the opportunity to turn it into a book using blurb.com when I have compiled enough. The address is carrollfamilyfavorites.blogspot.com You can also get there from my profile page. Thanks to Julie Homer for the idea!
