4th of July weekend at Priest Lake

After the funeral we headed up to Priest Lake to spend the weekend with Aaron's aunt and uncle and 3 cousins (who are not much older than our kids). Kelly and Jody opened their cabin (home for the summer) and welcomed the six of us with open arms! We water skied, tubed, surfed, sun bathed, chased babies, ate great food, played, played, and played some more. We also had a great fourth of July fireworks show thanks to KC (Aaron's 13 year old cousin). Thank you Mercer Island Carroll's for a FANTASTIC weekend!!!

Great Grandpa Greg's funeral

Will and Tyler catching up! Tyler is 6 weeks younger than Will and Elle, but clearly is not ever going to be the little cousin! Aren't those cheeks just scrupmtious?

We were really sad to say goodbye to Great Grandpa Greg. He passed away on June 28, 2009. We were able to attend his funeral service in Garfield Washington on July 2. It was nice to see all the cousins and family and really was a nice service. We are also very thankful that we went to Spokane to visit over memorial day weekend when Grandpa was still healthy. I am glad that is how the kids will remember him!

Turning into a girl!!

Elle has really turned into a girl lately... she LOVES shoes, necklaces, dress up, and to be told she looks pretty. Here are a couple pictures of her trying on various shoes :)

Happy 31 mommy!

Well this year I turned the big 31!! I was planning on heading down to Utah to surprise my good friend Jill on her 30th birthday (which happened to be the same day as my birthday) so Aaron and the girls threw me a birthday party a day early. On Sunday after church Aaron and the kids kicked me out of the house for a few hours while they did birthday party preperations... they included decorating a lamp, making a cake and decorating the house! I loved spending my birthday with my favorite people... Thank you Aaron, Hannah, Ava, Will and Elle, I love you guys! It was a good thing they did my party a day early because I ended up with a HORRIBLE flu bug on my birthday : (

Kitchen helpers

Like most little girls, Hannah and Ava LOVE to help out in the kitchen. Saturday is their day to make pancakes with daddy (daddy is better at letting them help than mommy)... this particular Saturday we let daddy sleep in while we made pancakes for him! I love my little kitchen helpers

Twins get their first haircuts!!

Well, Will has had a couple before this one, but this is the first documented hair cut!! Do you like that I am using ginormous sewing scissors, and better yet dum-dums to distract? Luckily Will's hair is so curly that it is pretty hard to screw up! Elle has a pretty curly mullet, does that count? We cut hair back in June... and as per usual... just now blogging about it!
