Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had Uncle Court, Aunt Aspen, Audrey, Auntie Lisa and Uncle Jared over for Court's birthday celebration. Yes, every year for the last 28 Court's birthday has been on Christmas eve... lucky guy?! As per 3 years of tradition we made Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana, salad, breadsticks and alfredo sauce, mmm. After dinner we ate a fantastic cheese cake that Aspen made and played board games. When everyone left we read the story of "What God wants for Christmas". The girls have read this story many times so they pretty much told us the story. The kids got to open one present from mom and dad, and surprise... it was jammies (always is). Before they went up to bed we had them write a note for Santa and also put out the cookies, milk and carrots. The girls worked together to write a note to Santa, it was so cute.

A face only a parent could love?!

;

Sissy is working on her new smile?! Excuse the boogie nose and the oatmeal dripping down her face, do you see this smile... I think I will be saying "umm actually, just don't smile" sooner than I expected. This trick along with waving and shaking her head NO, are her new favorite tricks. Really they melt our hearts!

Always willing to "help"

There is no discrimination between chores, whether it is sweeping, dishes, laundry, cleaning toilets, etc. I always have at least two volunteers willing to "help".

Gettin' our vitamins

Currently Will and Elle's favorite thing is the dogfood! It makes their whole day if someone leaves the door to the laundry room open so they can get a snack on their own account. Mmm... they eat handfuls at a time.

Tacky Sweater Christmas Party

And the winner of the Tacky sweater contest goes to..... Aaron Carroll (or his creative wife who shopped and used creativity to come up with the ugliest Christmas sweater). The giant santa head is acutally a toilet seat cover that I found at a thrift shop... don't worry, I did wash it! Amazing enough it was all guys in the top 4 and I think all of their wives helped make them look extra handsome for this occasion. We hosted a 4th annual Christmas party at our house this year (only our first annual). We had a great time as you can see from the pictures!

Here are the finished products

The furniture is meant to look distressed. In fact we beat the legs of the table with a chain to give it more of a distressed look which we like, but we did not have the heart to do it to the top of the table.
