Helping the prisioners out!

Aaron has taught Hannah and Ava to be excellent citizens. Over the course of the last 3 years we have been in this house he has suggested that we go clean up the trash in our neighborhood about every 3-4 months. So we all load up with garbage bags and gloves (if we have them around) and set off to "keep our neighborhood clean". Fortunately we live in a neighborhood with neighbors that take pride in their homes so there is often very little trash to be found. Although, the school right out our front door that seems to collect a lot of trash from the busy road.

The girls really enjoy cleaning up the trash and are now the ones asking do go on trash duty. We have also seen other families in our neighborhood follow suit. It is amazing how kids think service is fun as long as they are taught from a young age.

Here are a couple pictures of our garbage collectors... all of our finds were combined in one big bag! The babies tagged along this time... Elle liked to hold the bag like a purse and William liked to pick up and throw all the rocks :)

That is a smart idea. I hate trash so that would cure a lot of problems.
