What an amazing place! Thank you to my good friend Stephanie Wilkey who recommended we make sure to visit Fern Canyon. Stephanie grew up going to the Redwood Forest and had many great places that she remembered as a kid and told us we should visit. This was by far our most favorite stop in the forest. It is a canyon that is maybe about 1/2 mile long with a little stream that runs through the middle there are about 30 little foot bridges that cross over the the stream. The walls are about 70 ft tall and covered with ferns. When I looked this place up on line it said that parts of Jurassic park II were filmed here.
We gave the girls the freedom to run ahead. They took off and loved a little bit of independence. The great thing is that they couldn't get lost!
